Spring Stop Motion Clips with the LEGO Play App (2025)

In spring 2025 I had the opportunity to create five stop-motion clips with the LEGO Play App.
The theme was spring – playful, light, and full of ideas. It was an inspiring process to take my sketches and turn them into little animated stories.

Behind the Idea

Before filming, I started by writing a simple script and taking notes, adding a few small sketches along the way. It helped me think about what kind of short stories might fit into these clips. The LEGO Play App turned out to be the perfect tool: lightweight, easy to use, and quick to set up. It doesn’t need technical knowledge, it simply opens doors for creativity.

Behind the Scenes

Working with the LEGO Play App

What I enjoy most about the LEGO Play App is its simplicity. Children can use it without any prior knowledge – but at the same time, it is powerful enough for me to test creative ideas quickly.
Often, when I plan bigger brickfilms, I use the app to try out certain scenes. It’s satisfying to get results so fast and to see right away what works.

Reflections & Gratitude

I often find myself using the LEGO Play App just for fun – it’s free, easy, and opens the door to telling your own stories right away. Sometimes the simplest tools are the ones that spark the most creativity.

This project was not only fun, but also a reminder of how valuable it is to have tools that encourage creativity and play. I’m grateful for these possibilities and for the simple, yet powerful motto: the opportunity to play.
